Application -Industrial oils and lubricants used in engines (automotive, marine, biogas), gearboxes (wind turbines) and hydraulic systems, contain a base oil and a complex mixture of additives to enhance the oil’s lifetime, lubrication and application properties. The oils are used to lubricate critical parts of often very expensive machinery. Knowing the quality of the lubricant at any given point in time enables the customers to optimise the environmental and operational performance and to optimise maintenance cycles.
How To Use – The oil sample is placed on the ATR crystal which forms part of the spectrometer. This is done easily with a pipette of approximately 0.5-0.75ml. The measurement is started from the software. After about 30s the measured parameters of the sample will be displayed. The user can add traffic light specification (green/yellow/red) limits to aid the interpretation of the results.
